Murchison Falls, Queen Elizabeth and Kidepo — game drives, launch trips and the boat cruises that make a Uganda safari different from everyone else's.
Uganda's parks are close enough to Jinja to work as a leg of a longer trip rather than a separate holiday. Murchison Falls is the natural first choice heading north — the Nile forced through a seven-metre gap, with a launch trip to the base and giraffe on the northern bank.
Queen Elizabeth in the west adds the Kazinga Channel, where an afternoon boat puts you a few metres from hippo and elephant coming down to drink. Kidepo, in the far north-east, is the emptiest park in the country and the one people talk about afterwards.
We drive it, we arrange the park fees and the nights, and we tell you honestly when your days are better spent on two parks than on four.
